Dive Report Oriskany May 26, 27, & 28
Over the holiday weekend we had the please of taking divers out to dive the USS Oriskany. It is always quite fitting to dive this wreck on this commemorative holiday weekend. We had our annual group of divers from the Giggling Marlins joined by several others. We also had the pleasure of having some retired as well as active duty Marines on the boat who are currently stationed in Pensacola for flight school. All making the weekend that much more memorable. The conditions on the site are improving. Current has slacked off and visibility is improving, about 50ft or so. Water is warming up a good deal, we are seeing temps in the low 70s. The wreck is beaming with life. Octopi, sharks, goliath grouper were spotted on the dives. Summertime is here, lets go diving!
